Package Services in O&M and Construction
CPower Energy provides package services in the Construction and O&M phases of Onshore and Offshore Wind farms by applying an integrated approach of in-house expertise and collaboration with partners. We maintain and continuously develop a strong network of partners with whom we work closely to deliver the best solutions to our clients in a cost-effective way.
What & Why
Temporary Power is needed on Offshore Wind Farms during the construction phase (when the wind farm has not yet been connected to the grid), during the O&M phase (in the case of a cable fault), or during a technical issue on the substation or even during a planned power outage.
How Can We Help
CPower Energy has experience gained from over 15 Offshore Temporary Power projects. Our partnership with Atlas Copco ensures we can deliver turn-key solutions right through from planning to decommissioning, we have the experienced to manage the provision of generator sets, vessels and manpower during any Temporary Power project. Every aspect of our work is planned with flexibility in mind so we can scale up or down generators sets or offshore personnel to ensure the project is delivered in the most cost effective way.
What & Why
All new offshore windfarm projects need experienced teams to assemble and prepare and pre-assemble Wind Turbine Generators (WTG’s) onshore, prior to their installation offshore. This saves valuable time offshore during the installation phase and potentially reduces construction time and costs. Offshore retrofits on wind farms can be carried out in a much safer, faster and more cost effective manner through the use of experienced resources.
How Can We Help
CPower Energy has assembled teams of experienced technicians across all electrical, mechanical and hydraulic disciplines, these teams and sometimes individuals are able to deliver efficiently and in a timely manner. C Power Energy are also able to help with project planning, risk assessment alongside the provision of manpower to facilitate your needs.
What & Why
Offshore cable pull-ins need to be well planned and delivered by experienced team. Preparation, planning and precision are essential to ensure no additional costs are incurred, safety compromised and offshore time is optimisation.
How Can We Help
CPower Energy has developed its experience across more than 8 cable pull-in projects on Offshore Wind farms, on top of this we have delivered numerous rigging jobs both Onshore and Offshore. We work with some of the industries most experienced Managers, supervisors and riggers who deliver high quality cable pull-in and cable rigging services in a professional, efficient and always safe manner.
What & Why
Confined Space Entry is needed when work needs to be carried out in these normally sealed areas with only one escape route. As a result of the potential hazards created by these sealed environments work has to be meticulously planned, with a high degree of focus on safety and the need to reduce any risks to a minimum. Alternative plans need to be put in place in the event of emergency escape or if injured personnel need to be lifted out. Jobs needing to be carried our under the airtight deck in the wind turbine foundations are examples of confined space entry works.
How Can We Help
CPower Energy has gained a great deal of experience from carrying out inspection and painting works in offshore wind farm confined spaces as well as providing rescue and safety teams for technicians working in these confined spaces. We plan the work, monitor and manage all safety aspects associated with the work and are your trusted partner for all confined space job requirements.
What & Why
Onshore and Offshore structures exist in an aggressive environment and as such need constant protection against the elements (sea water, salt, wind, waves etc.) to prolong the life and integrity of the steel structures. Most offshore steel structures already have a corrosion protective coating applied prior to installation but these coatings get damaged during the installation process and need an in situ and reliable repair. Regular inspection of the coatings and repairs carried out over the life time of the structure will ensure that corrosion does not escalate and increase the levels of maintenance required which in turn are more time consuming and costly.
How Can We Help
CPower Energy has gained a huge amount of experience through carrying out coatings inspection and coatings repairs on more than 100 turbine foundations. We also carry out paint repairs in confined spaces and in areas of difficult access utilising rope access techniques. All painting, coatings inspection and coatings repairs are carried out in accordance with international standards and coatings manufacturers requirements.
What & Why
The Offshore Wind sector is dominated by the transmission of electricity through HV cables, both inter array and export, cable failures are a major issue for the industry, and require skilled jointing and repair services to ensure that damaged cable are returned to services as quickly, safely and cost effectively as possible.
How Can We Help
CPower Energy supplies experienced technician teams to support your cable jointing and repair projects.
What & Why
Wind Turbine Inspection and testing programmes are carried out as a preventative maintenance measure by the asset owner to provide an overview of the condition of their assets. With the inspection results the asset owner can decide how to manage the findings and where/when to take action. Some areas of the Inspection and testing regime are required by law and must be carried out within specific intervals. Any findings that show inspection or test failures of the equipment require maintenance, repair or replacement actions.
How Can We Help
CPower Energy operates in-house inspection, testing and repair digital system that can be configured to suit our clients’ recording and reporting needs and expectations. The results of every inspection are shown with details of history and repair. We can carry out a wide range of inspections – from mandatory safety and safety equipment inspections to electrical and general asset inspections together with a full repair capability, we give assets owners an overview and assurance of the asset’s status.
What & Why
Often a number of smaller construction, operations or maintenance tasks need to be carried out alongside an existing project schedule or maintenance program without interfering or disturbing those programs and in so doing ensuring that safety or operational integrity in the wind farm is maintained at the highest level. Secondary works often include cleaning, small repairs and inspection jobs and tasks that can change from day to day.
How Can We Help
No task is too small for Cpower Energy, we take pride in manage all snagging and secondary works for our clients. We often cover interfaces between contracts making sure the project can carry on with no interruption. Our technicians are flexible, open minded and ready to take on any tasks. CPower Energy site managers always work in close collaboration with the client’s team and we often combine tasks to ensure our work is as productive as possible.
What & Why
Crew Transfer Vessels (CTV’s) are used for transporting technicians to and from Offshore Wind Turbines during construction and the daily Operations and Maintenance of the wind farms. Choosing the right vessel is often difficult, especially on an ad-hoc basis as the parameters influencing the choice can vary. It all comes down to finding the right vessel on a flexible basis, and it is not only the day rate that is of importance, but also the overall performance and suitability of the vessel for the project.
How Can We Help
CPower Energy has more than 8 years of experience of finding, choosing and managing CTV’s for its own projects and to help others, we have connections across the industry with a variety of CTV supply companies. We understand what it takes and are confident we can supply the most suitable vessel for your needs on a very flexible basis.
